You heard right! The coolest area in the country is about to have the coolest guide. This definitive guidebook to climbing in the Gunks will be hitting store shelves in the fall. Written by veteran climbing authors Zach Orenczak and Rachael Lynn, The Gunks brings together all the necessary components of a great guidebook in classic Extreme Angles style. This full-color guide is brimming with maps, topos, photos of the routes, rappel diagrams, strategy, beta, historical anecdotes, breath-taking photography and much more. If you've climbed in the Gunks you've certainly heard the most popular expression: What route are you on? Meaning that the routes are notoriously difficult to find. And while the routes haven't changed, this book has made the process of finding them a million times easier. With clear and detailed approach maps getting you to the base, then topos and photos of the face and finally a verbal description of each route, you've got 4 ways of finding your route. Now you can spend more time climbing instead of wandering around asking that annoying question.
The main shipment of these revolutionary guides will be arriving shortly! To reserve one for yourself, click here.

September 20,2008Vedauwoo's annual Fat Crack Festival went off without a hitch, marking the 10th anniversary of this wild event. People from around the globe (seriously!) gathered to celebrate Vedauwoo's outstanding climbs. Jeff Rickerel came away as the undisputed champion of trash clean-up, while Bob Stuckert took the award for off-width style. Here he is (left) cranking up the heinous crux of Bell Crack, 5.11a. A good time was had by all!
